WordPress iPhone app up for download!
posted by Rob Johnson on Jun.30, 2009, under Tech News
Great news! The WordPress iPhone app just hit the app store. You can download it now here:
http://itunes.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewSoftware?id=285073074&mt=8
It recognizes your catagories now and seems to be a little quicker on OS 3.0. Now all I need is a little “Sent from my iPhone” signature. :)
Sorry for the Twitter repeats.

We’re working on the comment system for posts right now, and had to make an adjustment on some older posts. Should have it fixed by the end of the day.
Hey, at least you get the news again if you missed it the first time! :)

Answering Routine E-Mail Quickly via IM
posted by Rob Johnson on Jun.30, 2009, under Tips
Instant messaging is the quick way of replying to non-essential e-mail. You can save valuable time by answering routine messages with instant messages instead of e-mail. Click Reply on the toolbar, and then select Reply with Instant Message from the drop-down menu. This will start Microsoft Office Communicator, which you can then use to send an instant message in less time than a conventional e-mail message.
CNN: Steve Jobs back at work

As promised, Steve’s medical leave ended with the month of June. Last January, Apple announced that CEO Steve Jobs would take a leave of absense to deal with medical issues for approximately six months. Since then, we’ve learned that Steve had a liver transplant and today Apple confirmed his return.
“Steve Jobs is back to work. He is at Apple a few days a week and working from home the other days,” Apple spokesman Steve Dowling said. “We’re glad to have him back.”
That’s great news for the company and, more importantly, for Steve himself. There has been much noise about Steve during the past six months, including Apple’s future without him, who might take over and the company’s obligation to keep investors informed about the health of their CEO. Here’s hoping the din dies down and that Steve continues to enjoy a long and productive career at Apple.

Adding New Users in Windows Vista
posted by Rob Johnson on Jun.29, 2009, under Tips
Rather than putting everyone’s files in one location, Windows Vista allocates folder structures for each user, keeping your information more private and less cluttered. User Accounts are configured through User Accounts and Family Safety in Control Panel.
Note: You must be an administrator, and your organization might limit the use of administrator rights
I am now a WordPress fan!
posted by Rob Johnson on Jun.28, 2009, under CornDog News
I signed up for a WordPress.com account 2 years ago and played around with it before getting board and going back to blogger. I had no idea what WordPress could really do. In all truthiness, (as Stephen Colbert would say), I stuck with blogger for o e simple feature… the ability to post by email. I wanted to be more active in my blogging life. Needless to say I never did.
Anyway. Fastforward 2 years a d here I find myself loving WordPress as default choice to build my company website on. I have been using Rapiweaver. I am still a big fan of Rapidweaver and will continue to use it, but the big problem has been the option to update my website from my iPhone.
So after a LONG weekend of moving all of my content to my new wordpress driven site, I have removed Rapidweaver from the dock, and installed the WP iPhone app. I am ready to start adding content to my newly improved 1.2 version of the site!
I have a n iPhone version of the site too, but it’s just a basic WPTouch plugin. I will be modding it soon to bring back that CornDog style to my site on your pocket computer.
I encourage you to signup for an account on my site so you can post comments, and ask questions. I will try to keep the information comming at a rapid pace!
First live broadcast. How’d we do?
posted by Rob Johnson on Jun.28, 2009, under CornDog News

What a CornDog!
Last Friday was our first live broadcast where we answered tech questions and talked about new technologies. We started at about 9am, but didn’t really get into it until 10am. Unfortunately I didn’t start recording right away so we missed some of the good stuff. We had a live chat room where we reached 95 visitors. This was a trial run of a future project that we are working on and hope to make it a weekly thing. If you missed it you can see the recorded version here.
There were 4 of us live talking about subjects ranging from Twitter to what the most likely scenario of robots taking over the world. :) Co-hosts for the day were Robert Basil, Kyle Gray, and Travis Eichelberger.
Robert and I will be taking the show to TalkShoe next Friday @10am to give a second go around. Come hang out if you have the time and feel free to call in with any questions related to technology. I’ll post more details this week regarding next weeks show.
Thanks for watching.

By default, page backgrounds created with the Page Color option in the Page Background section on the Page Layout tab in Microsoft Office Word 2007 do not print. However, you can print them with the document if needed.
